Aunt B has this cartoon about her dog Mrs. Wigglebottom who is chewing her own tail bloody. The part I like the best about this post (other than B’s amazing artistry) is the comments. All the commenters are trying to help B figure out what is the best thing to do with Mrs. Wigglebottom.
I, personally, agree with Kat Coble’s assessment- especially using bitter apple to make her stop chewing the area. My own dog had a similar issue a couple of years ago, and bitter apple helped him stop chewing at the area long enough for it to heal up. It turns out he had food allergies and once we started feeding him food without corn in it, he stopped itching so badly.
Anyway, hope Mrs. Wigglebottom gets to feeling better really soon, Aunt B!
