I knew from listening to Sharon talk about Jake that he was possibly one of the most loved dogs ever. We were all heartbroken with her when he passed away two years ago last week. Jake loved Sharon … heart and soul. She tells us on the anniversary of his death why he was so special to her.
We circled each other for about a year. He was quiet and very well behaved and liked people. Then one night I had an asthma attack in my sleep and Jake was licking my face frantically, something he had never done before, to wake me. I woke up gasping, made it to the ER, and the doctor told me if Jake hadn’t woken me, I would have died.
I got home and Jake was running in circles with happiness. He knew he had saved my life. And from that moment on, he was by my side, his tail now wagging constantly because he was now happy all the time. He now had a purpose. He was an old dog who was just waiting out his days, and now he had a purpose, and that was to make sure I was okay.
Jake’s love for Sharon knew no bounds. Beautiful. Thank you for sharing Jake with us.
