Copy and paste are my two favorite functions of in any kind of word processing… well that and the paintbrush tool which mimics the formatting from one format to another. Perhaps it’s my love of the shortcut Control functions – or because it was recommended as a good read by San Francisco’s Brittney G. – but this copy and paste scenario from older Disney movies is just too fun to ignore!
Footnote, Brittney found it on Twenty Sided here.

On Easter Sunday, more than 100 pooches from Texas are expected to be a part of the annual Pooch Parade! While it’s great fun for the family and their pets dressed up, the most heartwarming part to me is that adoptable dogs will lead the parade. From Dogtipper.com,
The fun begins with the Parade of Adoptable Dogs at 12:45 p.m. followed by the Pooch Parade and Costume Contest at 1 p.m. The Dallas Symphony Orchestra takes the stage at 3 p.m. to perform light classical music and pop favorites .
With dogs expected to sport all kinds of different costumes – and colors! – it should be amazing fun!

And our Friday finale of live cam week – the Owl Cam! My dad said he watched it for awhile, but all the owl does is scratch itself. However, rumor has it that one day earlier this week, the Momma owl brought the baby some food and that was interesting.

Just because I said “week” doesn’t mean I have more than two days. So two days you shall have!
The popular Shiba Inu Puppy Cam from a couple of years ago had another litter. The puppies have all gone to good homes, but they recommend the Puppy Window camera.

In the Cumberland River that winds through Tennessee, a danger is lurking. The danger is in the form of a silver carp or Asian carp – fish that immigrated to the area via the Mississippi River after being used as stock fish in Arkansas.
The fish scare easily and when the do – they jump. With the strength and mobility to jump up to 10 feet, these carp often land in the faces of boaters and fishermen on the river. Because they can weight up to 40 pounds, these unexpected assaults can cause serious injury when a human is hit.
Local TV station WKRN reports that fish injuries aren’t the only concern,
In addition to injuring boaters, officials are concerned what the fish will do to the native fish in Tennessee’s waters.
Wilson explained, “They compete with our native species because they feed on plankton and the species we have concern about are our plankton feeders like Paddlefish and Buffalo.”
What’s a fisherman to do? Not a thing… the fish can not be eradicated, so just being careful is what’s called for.

Personally the remote control is my favorite part of modern television, particularly the mute button. I’m one who really dislikes commercials though my mother-in-law always says, “They have to pay for free TV somehow.” So mute button inventor, I love you.
On the other hand, my brother’s dog Penny does not like the remote control,
When Penny sees someone use the remote she goes into a frenzy. She holds one of her toys in her mouth and shakes it violently as to break its neck. And of course before she gets to that stage, she is ever vigilant. And drooling. So by the time we touch the remote and she goes into her spasm, she has a huge thread of slobber hanging from her lip which she then shakes all over the house, but mostly.. onto her flanks. Eww. You don’t wanna pet that!
Not me, brother. I don’t like to pet drool. By the way, how cool a name is Penelope Widmore for their dog? Penelope of course is Desmond’s girlfriend from LOST.

The great thing about being from a large family that’s filled with love and laughter is that even when you’re poor growing up, you never really realize it. Mom and Dad did everything they could to make ends meet. We had a huge garden wherever we lived, there was canning and freezing to be done, and at one point we even raised rabbits for food.
It never really bothered me to eat rabbit – my favorite was rabbit noodle soup. However, our rabbit meals suddenly stopped one day when one of my brothers sat down at the table and innocently asked, “Mom! Which one is this? The white one or the brown one?”
And thus ended our foray into barbecued bunny. The Urban Chickens Network blog makes the point in a much less brutal way in Backyard Bunnies are NOT the Next Urban Chicken,
Urban chickens will provide a regular supply of protein-packed eggs for at least three years (sometimes much longer) and there’s no blood on your hands. Raising chickens means entering a nurturing relationship with an animal that rewards you sustainably and over time.
Bunnies, on the other hand, only give up their protein once: and that’s after the slaughter.
I think having a chicken would be pretty neat, but like my Mom I don’t think I could ever raise bunnies for meat again.
