I have not watched the new Planet of the Apes movie because of the very real possibility that it will scare the bejeezies out of me. Watching the eyes of Caesar in the trailers as he watches humans… well major creepy! Also watching the When Animals Attack television show about the chimpanzee attack on Charla Nash reminds me of how dangerous animals – even when raised by humans – can be.
I once worked with a couple who owned primates. We searched for two months to find them a house that was affordable, but had several acres for privacy. They knew if the monkeys ever scratched or bit anyone, they’d be put to death, by state law.
One bad monkey escaped and attacked a neighbor. He was put down and because the other primates were in poor condition, they were removed from the home.
Be careful of wild animals. Always be careful.
