This is so stinkin’ cute!

I am an absolute Kentucky fan when it comes to basketball.  I come from a long line of Wildcat fans, so of course I believe they have the cutest mascot ever!  The Pawnation take on the NCAA Cutest Sweet 16 Animal Mascots does not agree with me that Kentucky’s mascot is cutest, but I will admit there are other cute mascots as well!

Big Jay knows he is just one shy of the top spot, but hey, that’s okay. This large-and-in-charge bird is no sore loser.

There are many beautiful creatures on this planet. Some have feathers. Others have fur.  Not a fan of those with scales, but there are some handsome scaled creatures, too.  On the other hand, we do have some ugly critters around.  From Funny Photos,

It almost looks animated!

If I go swimming in any body of water where minnows try to nibble near my fingers or toes, I’m out of the water post-haste.  So if I was Shakira and was attacked by a sea lion, I would FREAK OUT.

Shakira believes she was attacked by the Sea Lion thanks to her Blackberry, which she was using to take its picture. She thinks that perhaps, the sea lion thought it was being taunted with food or something. Sea lions generally don’t attack humans, with their aggression related to territory issues. Still, she’s fortunate to have escaped unharmed given the size of the average sea lion.

Thankfully her brother was there to come to her rescue! Lesson learned: don’t mess with sea lions.

Two weeks ago we had a report from one of our subdivisions that someone spotted a mountain lion. While I’m pretty sure it probably was nothing more than a yellow lab, it’s strange to think that wild feline animals do roam and sometimes even in the most domesticated neighborhoods!

The following excerpt, however, from Palm Beach County, Naturally in Florida makes me wish we could see more wild animals,

She was successful in getting two of them rounded up and through a culvert to another area where she was feeling safer.  This is one of the ones she rounded up! This poor guy was the one who ran off.  He was crying and crying for his mother and he eventually went and laid down deep in the woods.  I’m sure that this isn’t the first time they have been separated and she’ll come get him in good time!
